The role of sports, music and arts in the Christian community today is
greater than ever before. A Christian approach to these activites that many enjoy
is urgently needed. The purpose of this camp is to expose young people
to a Christian concept of the place of these activities in our society,
to teach basic skills, to provide an opportunity for Christian fellowship
and growth and to encourage the use of athletic and performing arts as
tools in communicating the Gospel and God's Love to mankind.
Sports and Music Camp offers young people the opportunity to work hard at improving in the skill session of their choice. Qualified instructors from many disciplines help campers to focus their efforts to develop the talents they have while helping them to see how they can share Jesus Christ through them. In addition, campers develop friendships through team activities and each evening they take part in a dynamic program featuring a youth speaker, music and video.
Sports - SPAM focuses on fundamentals for competitive play. Athletes should expect to work hard, sweat a lot and develop skills that will enhance their play. Sports offered are Basketball, Soccer, Co-Ed Softball, Volleyball, and Tennis!Music - SPAM offers musicians and vocalists the opportunity to concentrate on further developing their musical talents through group and individual instruction. Bring your instrument, even if you also play a sport!
Video Production - SPAM offers those interested in digital animation, filming, video editing and production an excellent opportunity to learn video production skills in producing the annual camp video.
Drama - SPAM offers instruction in drama for those who are interested in developing their acting abilities. Activites include training exercises, directing techniques, improv sketches and developing a short drama for the closing program.

Been a camper and don't want the SPAM experience to end? Been impacted by a counselor or instructor and want to do the same for others? Want to get ministry experience working in a close, community setting?
Why not consider being part of the SPAM Camp staff. We're looking for ministry-minded people to serve as counselors, CIT's and instructors for our 2009 camp.
